So this past weekend was pretty stressful. Things with life and school have been really tough but I just try to keep a positive train of thought and hope that everything turns out right. I guess that's a part of growing up huh? I'm getting to the point in my life now where I am thinking more about the future and what I want 5-10years down the road. On my educational/professional side I will be graduating next year and ending the college chapter of my life. Now i'm trying to get an internship or something so I have that experience I need to go out and get a good photojournalist job after I graduate. So that in it self is very stressful. Then on my personal life I have been dating my boyfriend for a year and two months now and I love this man with all my heart. I know I want us to get married one day. It's just really scary because both of us are only 21 and living completely on your own is pretty scary. But I know as long as I have him by my side everything will be ok and I know we can get through everything together. So I guess what i'm trying to say is that i'm just stressing about a lot of things right now and stressing about my future and all that, but I know I can get through all those things cause I have people who love and care about me and want the best for me.

So I haven't taken a reporting class in about a year so I'm a little rusty on the whole thing. But this weekend I had an interview at The Candy Lady Shop in Old Town and I was a little nervous because it's been so long since I've done an interview. But Debbie, that's the store owner and founder, was soooooooo nice and welcoming. I had a great time there talking with the ladies and looking at their x-rated room. LOL yup that's what I said x-rated room, they have some pretty weird cards in there and candy shaped body parts. Any way I know I'm gonna have fun writing this story and hopefully you guys will to. But it's late and I'm tired so adios for now.

Pictures, Pictures, Pictures!!!

So when it comes down to it, I love print journalism and writing stories and all that is fun, but I love taking pictures. I want to be a photojournalist and I seriously need to get my butt into shape and start getting my portfolio together. Now you might say that is a really broad field. Why do I say this well in print journalism you have your beats. You can like writing about sports, or hard news, or entertainment or culture. The list can go on and on. Personally I like writing about feature stories, doing profiles on interesting people or places. I even like writing about fads that are happing things that are in at the moment. So I guess I can say these are the things I want to capture in a picture if I can. So for my photojournalism class we had an assignment to do and here is one of the pictures. I'll put some up later.
