TWISTED MEDIA??
Now this past weekend while watching news programs and
some entertainment shows I saw something that really made
me disgusted and think about the current state of our mass media.
It seems in today's society people are more interested in controversial
human piece stories.
As we all know last week Anna Nichole Smith passed away and how could
we not it has been all over the media. This weekend was no different with
her funeral. Sometimes it seemed like every bit an piece of the funeral was
covered.
This really bothered me because here we are in a middle of a war, about to
start the campaign season for our next president and all we can talk about
as a nation is who is the real father of Anna's baby?
But I have to admit the way the media does cover these type of stories
can draw you in. I was there watching the latest drama unfold and couldn't
help me drawn in.
But then at the same time I want to know what's going on over sea's with our
friends and families fight for their lives. Then a new worry about how soldiers
might be coming back from Iraq with head traumas that might not be treated
properly. And all this has been brought to the foreground of our attention because
of fellow journalist Bob Woodruff's report "To Iraq and Back".
It just makes me question sometimes what is really important to Americans now a
days.
